PD수첩 보도,미국 축산협회장 Andy Groseta 오디오 기사

   이명박 취임식 때 왔던 Andy Groseta가 미국으로 돌아간 뒤 인터뷰한 내용을  정리한 페이지다. 이 기사에 따르면 Groseta 가, 대한민국 국민 60%가 미국 소고기를 좋아한다. 총선이 곧 있으니, 총선이 끝난 후 열어주기로 했다는 식의 발언을 한다.  이마트 매니저도 미국 소고기 원한다는 말도 나온다. 이마트 비정규직 문제와 겹쳐지면서 참 보기가 좋지 않다. Andy Groseta 회장의 인터뷰 녹음 기사다.

   해당 실무자가 몰랐다면 윗선에서 어느정도 이야기가 된것이라는 의심이 충분히 나올만 하다. 이 사람이 이렇게 자신있게 인터뷰를 하고 기록에 남긴걸 보면 심증이 간다.  기사도 대통령 취임식을 마친 직후다. 2008년 2월 29일 이런 기사가 나왔다.

   해당 실무자가 이사람과 만나지 않았는데 이런 인터뷰가 나왔다면, 이명박 대통령에게서 직접 들었다는게 확실하지 않을까? PD 수첩에서도 보도 했고, 일부 의원도 이 문제를 지적했다. 그렇다면 실무자 의견없이 독자적으로 처리했다는 의혹이 있을만 하다

이명박 대통령의 취임식에 초청된 것은 크나큰 영광이다. 그것은 정말 인생에 한 번 있을까 말까 한 경험이었다.

I am very encouraged. It’s a timing issue in Korea. President Lee is in support of the FTA. He’s also in support of getting beef back into his country, but they have election scheduled for April 9th, and he wants to make sure that he can get some of his people who have the same view that he has in the national assembly so that they can open up trade.

전망은 고무적이다. 협상은 시간문제다. 이명박 대통령은 FTA 를 지지한다. 그리고 그는 쇠고기를 재수입하는 것도 찬성한다. 하지만 4월 9일에 투표가 있을 예정이고, 그는 자신의 지지자들을 모아 이 무역의 성사를 확실히 하고싶어한다.

그의 목표는 대단하다. 세금을 내리고, 정치적인 규제들을 완화하고 싶어한다. 그리고 더 많은 해외무역을 하며, 미국과의 관계도 더 돈독히 하고 싶어한다.

I’m told that the public in Korea, about 60 to 70% of the public, really want US beef back in the market. I was on a tour of the market called E-Mart. It’s on-e of the large chain stores. I met with the manager of the E-mart, and he said he can’t wait to get US beef back in their markets. Their customers want it and he’s anxiously waiting, so I think prospects are very good.

한국 국민의 60~70%가 미국산 쇠고기를 원한다고 들었다. 이마트라는 대형체인마트에 갔었는데, 그곳의 관리인도 빨리 미국산 쇠고기를 들이고 싶어한다. 고객들도 원하고, 그도 기다리고 있다. 전망은 밝다고 생각한다.
